Viðtal BBC við Valtý Sigurðsson 15 maí 2014

Viðtal  Simon Cox við Valtý Sigurðsson. Maí 2014:

Simon Cox:“ I wanted to talk to some of the  officers who worked on the case in the seventies but none would be interviewed. Then, when I got back to Britain I managed to contact one of the original investigators by SKYPE. Valtýr Sigurðsson ran the inquiery into the Geirfinnur disappearance and to my surprise he stands by the convictions.

Valtýr: “I think they are guilty. There were many many clues that if you put together you can (app) prove that they have done it. It is not only the confessions”.

Simon Cox: “ What is the other evidence then, there are no bodies there is no forensic evidence , there are no witnesses.”

Valtýr : “ There´s clues(es) Erla had been in Keflavík.”

Simon Cox: “ Clues.., not evidence”

Valtýr: “ We have lot of proofs that Erla had been in Keflavík. They have been lying the whole time about what happened, they have presented false accusations to other people to mislead the investigation.”

Simon Cox: “What do you think happened to Geirfinnur?”

Valtýr: “ I think it was a misunderstanding and they came to Keflavík to buy some alcohol from Geirfinnur and they got angry and there was a fight and this lead to some accident”

Simon Cox: “What do you think happened to Guðmundur?”

Valtýr: “I have no idea”

Simon Cox: “ What do you think of the evidence from Gísli Guðjónsson, he says it is the worst miscarriage of justice he has ever seen.

Valtýr: “ Well that´s his opinion”

Simon Cox: “You don´t agree...”

Valtýr: “ No, I don´t agree with him, no.
